Maybe the living Chara was different, but even Asriel said that Chara was a little crazy at times, despite them being best friends. She's a vengeful spirit unleased upon the Underground, awakened by Frisk's fall who's desire to commit genocide has now caused her to go on a vengeful rage. I am one of those people who see her as a villain. You can guess that she's evil, misunderstood or good all along. Now listen, everyone has their own opinion on the character of Chara. Even ones you'd think would be impossible to befriend such as Undyne. He is simply a boy who wants to go home and then slowly befriends all the monsters of the Underground. Some classify Chara and Frisk as girls, guys or one of each. I know they both supposed to be genderless but still, most people prefer to classify them as a certain gender.
